Changelog
What's new in Nibie.
Added
- Start a temporary chat from the ghost button next to New chat: it stays out of your history and search, doesn't use or update Memory, and is deleted when you leave it. If you just close the tab, it expires 24 hours after it started and is deleted soon after. Temporary chats are General only and don't take attachments.
- Try Nibie on the landing page opens a public /demo workspace with recorded chat and cited-research replies, no account and no live model calls.
- Ask what you decided about a topic to see dated excerpts and original conversation links from this Room's active chats; historical lookup stays separate from saved Memory.
- Workbench version history: save a checkpoint, preview prior versions (manual or AI-applied), and restore atomically with confirmation and recoverable text, keeping up to 50 versions per document; download Markdown or plain text, or copy formatted for Word/Docs (UI stays behind
WORKBENCH_UI_ENABLED). - Open a finished reply in Workbench beside chat, edit Markdown with autosave, and Ask Nibie on selected text to change that span inline (credits apply).
- Copy a single conversation’s transcript from the thread ··· menu as clean plain text.
- Search chats now finds conversation titles and saved message content from the same dialog, with short snippets, archived Restore, and jump-to-message highlighting.
- Download a file you attached to a chat from the message chip (your account only).
- Ask about a public GitHub pull request or project and Nibie can check live GitHub data, show “Checking GitHub…” while it runs, and keep “Used GitHub” on the answer after reload — public projects only, one check per reply.
- Nibie now enforces an AI spend budget separate from your weekly credits, so expensive replies stop with a clear “try again later” message when the budget is reached instead of keeping spend going.
- Code in Nibie's answers is now syntax-highlighted in calm, muted colors for common languages, including shell commands and their flags.
- When Nibie searches the web for a reply, you can see “Searching the web…” while it runs and “Used Web Search” on the finished answer — a first step toward clear, stoppable Actions without changing ordinary chat.
- Choose Deep Research from the Research menu for a bounded multi-source researched answer with citations, progress stages, and Incomplete/Failed labels when collection is partial or fails.
- When a reply uses web sources, Nibie shows clickable citation markers and a Sources list with title and domain, kept with the message so they survive reload.
- Ask Nibie to remember a preference or project fact across conversations, and manage or turn off Memory in Settings. Your current request always wins over what was saved.
- When a question needs current public information, Nibie can search the web and ground the reply in labelled sources while keeping Room files and your request in charge.
- Give long prompts a larger editing space while keeping short messages compact.
- Track your 500-credit weekly AI allowance and next reset in Settings; each response mode uses a different amount.
- Attach up to three text-based files—text, Markdown, CSV, JSON, source code, or text-based PDFs—to a conversation. Nibie can answer follow-up questions from their contents, and the files stay with that conversation.
- Add private Room files including DOCX and source formats; Nibie can find relevant text excerpts in the current Room when answering a question.
- Long conversations keep their thread: Nibie maintains a short summary of earlier messages in the background, so replies stay grounded in older context while recent messages are still used word for word.
Fixed
- Web and GitHub Actions stop waiting when cancelled or timed out, and discard late results instead of presenting them as a successful check.
- Workbench downloads preserve emoji in long document filenames instead of failing during export.
- Replies receive an explicit notice only when earlier thread messages are missing, and context details distinguish the history limit from messages that did not fit.
- Opening an empty chat through browser navigation releases the previous reply's Stop control and lets you start a fresh message.
- Settings keeps unsaved personalization drafts between sections, asks before discarding them, and preserves keyboard focus while choices save.
- Switching threads with Back, Forward, or a chat URL releases the previous reply so a delayed stream cannot block the next conversation.
- Web and GitHub replies keep consistent usage accounting if an error occurs after the response starts.
- Long chats preserve summaries and their recent updates before large source excerpts, and leave out stale history when newer corrections cannot fit.
- Deep Research cites only evidence used in the reply and stays Incomplete when sources are omitted or only search snippets are available.
- Web citations point to the page reached after redirects instead of an outdated search-result URL.
- Long chats reserve space for their existing summary, keep recent history continuous when a message cannot fit, and report older context omitted by the history limit.
- Saving a conversation's model shows “Saving…” on the Research control instead of incorrectly claiming a response is running.
- Replies that use saved Memory can finish streaming without a false connection-recovery error.
- Workbench Ask Nibie shows a clear message when the feature is not ready on this environment yet, instead of a generic “couldn't improve that document” error.
Changed
- Settings now groups appearance, AI defaults, chat behavior, personalization, memory, usage, and privacy in a clearer dialog, with a full-height mobile layout, swipeable section tabs, and keyboard navigation.
- Getting-started guidance now explains how to continue work with Room briefs, files, explicit Memory, and research sources; attachment limits match the current uploads.
- Workbench UI is hidden until product-ready: Edit in Workbench and
/workbench routes are unavailable (backend and preview harness stay in place). - Workbench documents support Markdown Write and Preview (same rendering as chat replies).
- Workbench side panel is a lighter editor: Write/Preview, Ask Nibie on selected text (inline apply, no suggestion review), Expand, and Close.
- Manual whole-document AI Assist is removed; select text in Write mode and use Ask Nibie instead.
- Workbench document saves now use revision checks so a stale tab cannot overwrite newer edits.
- Response Format V1: answers keep Natural Structured Markdown — short facts stay concise paragraphs; developed replies use headings, steps, small tables, or code only when they help; explicit requests like plain text, code only, or table only are followed literally.
- Assistant reply actions (Copy, Regenerate, Retry) are icon-only with tooltips, and Copy is a single control (no plain-text submenu).
- Typography V1: Bricolage Grotesque for brand and display headings, Onest for UI, chat, and Workbench; code stays on system monospace.
- Account export now includes chat attachment file names and extracted text for your own conversations (download filename
nibie-export-v2.json). - Nibie’s response guidance now accurately describes when saved memory, web tools, and Room-file excerpts can be used, instead of incorrectly saying they are unavailable.
- Copy on a reply pastes Word- and Docs-friendly formatting (headings, lists, tables, and code without Markdown markers or dark theme), with plain text on the same clipboard write.
- Deep Research now uses a higher weekly credit cost that covers the full multi-step research run (planning, search, and synthesis), not just a single reply.
- Model and Research controls are clearer: Research shows Off or Deep Research (with a stronger selected state when Deep Research is on), and replies have a slightly tighter vertical rhythm for easier scanning.
- Improved message input readability, code example controls, and conversation navigation across desktop and mobile.
- Sources under a reply are now tucked into a single quiet line showing where the answer came from; open it to see each source with its title and site, or click a citation number to jump straight to it.
- Nibie now uses an abstract ribbon mark instead of a letter-like symbol. Replies are shown as plain text without a name header, and a quiet status (Responding…, Thinking… in High, or Researching… in Deep Research) appears only if the wait lasts more than a moment and disappears as soon as the answer starts.
- Nibie's dark workspace now uses calmer neutral graphite surfaces and a clearer text hierarchy, so long answers, conversation titles, and section labels are easier to read during long chats.
- Weekly AI allowance is now 500 credits per week (was 100); Fast, Balanced, and High still cost 1, 3, and 6.
- In a Room, Nibie finds relevant file excerpts from both keywords and meaning, so paraphrased questions still pull the right context while exact symbols stay preferred.
- Nibie's answers are now substantive by default, with enough explanation, steps, examples, or trade-offs to understand or act without asking again, and no padding. Short follow-ups like a company name or tech stack refine your current question, and Nibie won't start a quiz or mock interview unless you ask for one. Settings → Response depth offers Concise, Default, and Detailed, and a request in your message always wins.
- Nibie answers are easier to scan, with headings, steps, comparison tables, or code when they help.
Security
- Action audit records can no longer be forged from a signed-in browser session; only Nibie's server Action Runtime can write them.
Fixed
- Chat attachments now accept files up to 10 MB (was 4 MB), uploading directly to storage so large PDFs are not blocked by the server request-size limit.
- Deep Research dollar accounting now includes planner, search, and synthesis costs, so stopping or failing mid-run no longer refunds work that already ran.
- Web Search and Deep Research no longer lose a valid weekly credit reservation between the allowance check and the reply, which could block an answer even when credits remained.
- Web search now grounds Indonesian market condition/direction asks (for example “kondisi IHSG”, “arah pasar saham”) even when the message omits an explicit freshness word like “hari ini”, while still skipping definitional asks like “apa itu IHSG?”.
- Web citation markers no longer appear as raw
[SOURCE:web:…] text when the model streams a handle across chunk boundaries; they convert to clickable [n] markers with the Sources list. - Web search recognizes Indonesian web-intent and freshness cues for market questions (for example IHSG) without searching conceptual asks like “apa itu IHSG?”.
- Web search no longer fires on conceptual or coding questions that only mention weak words like version, release, price, or job.
- When web verification is unavailable, Nibie continues the reply without treating unverified current public facts as known.
- Replies now show a single thinking indicator, without repeating the response status below the message box.
- Once a conversation has started, the message box now says "Reply to Nibie…" instead of "Ask Nibie anything…".
- Help → What's new now shows the latest updates instead of saying there's no release yet.
- Stopping a reply now preserves the text already shown, stays marked Stopped after reload, and doesn't block your next message.
